Prime_8 it was the diode , the 5V supply i had failed. it was letting more than 5 , almost 6v. i purchased a replacement and the new one works better than the first ever did . I suspect i hade a bad power supply .

Prime_8 i have tested using plumbers PTFE tape on threads of the focusing unit on my my unit . it took the wobble rite out . I wish I could shorten the burning focus point distance from unit .

Prime_8 i have had chance to look closer and use it today . it seems the latching power switch is broken .and the internal break makes the power flicker off with a light bump .also the break makes it so the usb power port fails to power up as it should. it is most likely all in the switch according to the schematic i found . i think this was shipping damage as the switch it the highest part .
