Lachlan Jones This is a pretty easy kit, as they are all large size LEDs and are not surface mount. I used a 60w temp controlled soldering iron set at 450 degrees, and it worked fine. That's probably a bit hot, but I like it that way. I'd say anything from a 40w to 60w would be fine. Just make sure your iron tip is clean and tinned, and use some brass wool to keep it clean between solders.

Lachlan Jones Yes it is backlit, it runs off 12v. Blue backlight. Looks great.
