TESTED the MT3608 07:23 pm Fri 08 June 2018 : Confirmed this on all ten pieces received. Make sure you turn the blue pot 15-20 turns counter clockwise (CCW) to get the device to start registering your desired voltage and not just reading the voltage applied! I adjusted the pot to read 12VDC on the OUTPUT (approx 15 turns CCW on the pot) with 3.9 VDC applied to the input. This applied voltage used two different sources. Initially a current and voltage regulated Power supply to ensure no smoke developed and subsequently retested with a 3.9 VDC lion 18650. 1. With no load the components on the board never exceeded ambient temperature (20 C or 70 F). 2. With a load of 190 MA and an input of 3.9 VDC ( Current limited power supply then 18650) I applied an Incandescent load of 190 MA at 12 VDC the voltage remained at 12VDC and the temperature was 70F. Ran this combination for 5plus hours. 3. With a load of 1.4 AMPS and an input of 3.9VDC ( Current limited power supply then 18650) I applied an Incandescent light load of 1.4 AMPS at 12 VDC out the voltage remained at 12VDC (+/- 30 MA) and the temperature remained at 70F. Ran this combination for three hours. 4. With a load of 2.4 AMPS ( this current draw is above components spec) and an input of 3.9VDC ( Current limited power supply) I applied an Incandescent light load of 2.4 AMPS at 12 VDC out the voltage remained at 12VDC (+/- 30 MA initially and then the output voltage started dropping towards 11VDC) and the temperature still remained at 70F ! I ran this combination for three minutes and I stopped it here so there would be no component damage and it continued to run trouble free on subsequent testing at the reduced current settings. Note: I raised the input voltage to 7 VDC from 3.9VDC in the 4 steps above and the current draw values at 12 VDC output were approximately half of those at 3.9 Volts. I assume the current draw decreases the closer the voltage input is to voltage required, keeping in mind the step up voltage differential required to keep the MT3608 within operating parameters. Note: I used a Bourns Trimpot tool to adjust the variable pot and it makes this testing set up effortless! CONCLUSION: I am really pleased with this BangGood version of the MT3608 and I would purchase this item again. Cheers..Gerry Canada
