My supply arrived damaged due to the poor shipment packaging. Case was bent and the output inductor came loose from the PCB. The circuit design is very old - TL494CN PWM control circuit dates from the early 1980's. NPN transistors are used for switching. Value is great - $30 for 400 W is $0.08 per watt and it works for many applications. A more robust supply would cost at least $110 or $.33 per watt. Don't plan on getting 400 W on the output. I plan on getting 24 V at 10 A max. or 240 W (still only $.13 per watt). The thermal design and component selection is just not adequate for 400W. continuous.
