slim Why on earth connect an SD card to something when you haven't backed it up first? You can definitely retrieve, even on a formatted SD, the data is still there.. just google memory retrieval tools.. most give 1GB or so for free.. worth the money to buy a full version if it's that important.. hope you get it back.. Backup, Backup, Backup...

JPG23 This sounds like an operator error, just about any memory saving device with format a card before saving data to it. You should know to save data prior to using a memory device

Jakub_Lemon You'restupid not making backups. Do they trust one SD card all year? You fool, I'm sorry. Every reasonable person can use a free sw to get a daza from a card that was quickly formatted !!

JackClayts Update: While I agree I should have backed up the data, I intended to use the device to view the videos on the sd and never had it set to record. It should not have reformatted the sd, and I should not have put in an sd with unbacked up data
