Whiskers I couldn't actually say but I suspect the actual glue is a a insulator. If you wanted a perfect electrical connection you could could remove a bit of glue from the end with a solvent like alcohol or petroleum spirit depending on what type of glue it is. Maybe even cellulose thinners. All these tape adhesives have different properties and need the right solvent to remove them. Then you should be able to make a solder joint easily. If you were using on paper I would use a low melting point solder. A good multicore solder should do it with a horseshoe bit and the solder should flow between the tapes by capillarity.

Ioannis I'd like to add a comment about the enclosure, now that I assembly the power supply into it. The power switch that is placed in the back of the box, is really in close proximity to the cover. I am going to add a insulating plate on top of the switch, but in future revisions this is something that should be addressed.
