hanspeter It serves to calibrate the measurement of small electrolytic capacitors If you have a capacitor of known value (not necessarily an electrolytic one) around 2 to 10 microfarad then connect it to the rightmost terminal (marked C+) , push Smal_C and adjust the Potentiometer until the Indicator matches the value of your Capacitor. If you dont know the exact capacity of your cap, then adjust the Poti so that the Indication of the value is the same as measured with the big-C button on the left side of the Small_C one.
