Very cool item. I would only recommend this for people with good soldering skills. Also, these DIY cube kits come with boards either finished or unfinished (SMD soldering is required for unfinished). So, if you are not skilled with soldering these components, I would suggest buying a kit with a finished board, they are only $3-$4 more, but worth the headache. You will need to solder the leds in either case though. This is my second one, the first one had speaker/USB/SD slot but I accidently powered it up with a 12v adapter (Don't do that!) :( Animations are really cool. The app is a bit hard to use at first, but you can change the language to English (Which helps...some). I still have not figured out how to program it via PC. Everything needed is in the download, but being half English/half Chinese, its not so forward. I see plenty of build videos, but it would be nice to see a programming video for these. Take your time building it and do yourself a favor by getting the optional acrylic case. Its a must have for cat owners ;) You won't be disappointed! (unless you use a 12v adapter)!!!

Kyosho_Tom Idid the EXACT same thing :/ The first one I bought had the speaker/USB/SD card and I accidentally hooked it up to a 12v adapter, so I ended up getting this one. The only good thing was I already had an (all blue) cube soldered and ready. I was trying to see how to fix the other board, but not smart enough to do that :(

Nice little kit. If you are into Arduino, breadboarding or 3D printers, then this is the kit you need. Get a good quality crimper and you will be set for a long time.

These make for fun projects. I have priced these all over and this is an excellent price for one. My only complaint is I wish I had bought more at the time and in various colors.
