Q: how do you get these to light up? is there another kit you need?

PCTechSupport LEDs need about 2 or 3 volts DC applied to them in order to illuminate. If you apply more voltage than that, they will burn out. A simple small battery can be a good source of power. Go to YouTube to find free tutorials on basic electronics. Use Google to research more than I have given you today.

Q: Do you stock spare sponges for this stand? (Product ID(s)?) Thanks!

PCTechSupport Actually, they do carry replacement sponges. But you might need to cut what they have to fit. Try this search: https://www.banggood.com/search/soldering-sponge/0-0-0-1-3-60-0-price-0-0_p-1.html?sortType=asc Terry Thomas Atlanta, Georgia USA

PCTechSupport Your description includes words such as "wireless" and "weather forecast" but nowhere in the detailed descriptions is there any mention of an external wireless transmitter that one would place outdoors in order for the temperature or humidity to be sent to the base unit inside. This is very deceptive and beneath Banggood's reputation.
