I Purchased my UNI-T UT390B+ 40m laser range finder. I love this unit. It's easy to use and accurate. The build quality and reliability are top notch. My work involves setting up production for concerts, exhibitions and other event. I no longer wrestle with multiple tape measures to mark up a space. The UT390 makes my life so much easier. Whether it's trimming a truss or setting an exhibit piece I can now do it with confidence and speed. Also use my UT390B+ for venue recci's. All that tricky stuff like how high is that beam for a banner hang on an exterior or will a large item fit through a door. No longer a problem. My UT390B+ lives in my work bag. Always at the ready.

The UT390B+ does exactly what it says. Most of it is self-explanatory. The box came with a chinese manual but an email to customer service quickly provided an English PDF. Capturing datapoints is very quick and in my first tests it's precise down to the last millimeter. The red laser pointer, the blink and beep when successfully measuring and the backlit display make for super easy use. The last 3 measurements will always be indicated on screen, up to 30 can also be stored for later. Measurements can be taken indicating the distance from the front of the device or including the device itself. Continuous measurement mode runs a series of a measuremts and indicates the minimum and maximum. Guided modes calculate surface areas, volumes and allow for triangulating heights, the icons are self-explanatory and a blinking line on the rectangle/box/triangle at every step indicates which side you're supposed to be capturing. Results can be added to or subtracted from the previous measurement The device feels nice and solid and case and button finished are perfect. There's a nice nylon holster and a hand strap included - only niggle is that the lens isn't fully protected from dust in the holster. Time will tell if this is actually an issue in practice. Also the hand strap is a bit difficult to attach. At this price it's a great addition to my toolbox, even without immediate larger construction projects at hand.
