Crowning frets can be the most intimidating task. I have feared doing it my self. But with a bit of caution and courage it can be done. And buying a tool to accomplish the job can be just as intimidating. This crowning file has 3 different crowning files in one for different size frets. I haven't done a fret job with this tool yet. But I did file on a copper penny to see how it file and cuts. To my surprise it works relatively well. It left a fairly smooth surrface. It would still need polished. This is a nice tool for the price.

I have a couple of instruments that needed some fret work. I ordered this file because I don't do this professionally, but I still needed the right tool. When I first looked at it the different sizes looked good, but the filed didn't look very sharp. I tried it, and was immediately impressed with how well it cut. I don't know if it would hold up to regular use in a shop, but for occasional work on your own instruments it seems pretty good.
