It's a bit more scratchy than the Pilot or the Monteverde, but then I could buy 44 JinHao 126 pens for the price of that one Monteverde. The refillable cartridge works, but I'm a bit confused by the loose spring in the ink chamber. It's not acting as a spring. It might just be an easy way to stop the plunger going where it's not supposed to. The clip is actually a spring loaded lever, it's very nice and I wish my expensive pens would copy this JinHao design! Overall I'm really happy with this, it's a bargain and I'd strongly recommend it.

The pen takes Standard International cartridges, which you can find easily enough and quite cheaply. The clip on the cap is actually not flexible, but rather it is spring-loaded. This lends a nice feeling of durability to the cap. Also, the cap has an insert so that it fits snugly on the back of the pen while it's open. The body is quite thin, best suited for small hands. Good heft, most of the weight is in the cap. The nib doesn't write very thin, more like medium - tried the refillable cartridge with Cross ink with no problem. It looks well made, you wouldn't guess it's so cheap.

Nib is listed as "fine", but it seems a bit heavy, maybe closer to medium nib. Writes nicely. Not so much a con, but it's much heavier than the pictures would lead you to believe. My wife has slender fingers, and might not be able to use this too comfortably for long periods because of the weight. Something to be aware of.
