I buyed this product because i want to program 328 atmega uc`s, without including arduino board. First, i thought it was broked. I tried 2 days a lot of things, but everytime i couldn`t upload the arduino sketch. Them i saw a schematic on google, where betweem PIN 1 (RESET) and VCC (from atmega 329p) was a 220 resistor; i tried that and now it worls fine. THX!!! 5/5

my biggest fear was that it would brick my module board or pc or somehow it wouldn't work. But plugging it in, using win 10 it automatically recognized the ftdi and installed the required drivers and assigned a com port. I didn't have to do anything. after that, using it is as easy as any other com device. it has an ft232rl chip on board. 3.3v and 5v is selectable with pin

Hi all. FTDICHIP latest drivers are not working with this cause it's a clone. Insane update was done by FTDICHIP on latest drivers. to brick clone FT232. First, this item was not working on my windows7. And was bricked even if i downgrade to earlier version of fdti driver (i'm not doing automatic udpade from windows, and probabely have insane fdti drivers that brick clones). after some search with google i downloaded and installed these drivers : .http://smarttronik.com/index.php?controller=attachment&id_attachment=138 and then it worked perfectly. Banggood should notive this problem and give some info about turn around.

A recent Windows update disables knockoff FTDI chips. The update alters drivers for the chip on the Windows computer in such a way that if a device containing a counterfeit FTDI USB-to-serial chip is plugged in, the chip is permanently disabled, by changing the Vendor ID to 0000, for any computer it might later be plugged into. It took me hours to figure out what happened and more hours to revert the driver install and programming the Vendor ID back into the fake chip.

Perfect, supports 3.3v AND 5v, exactly what I needed to program my ESP32-CAM :)

This is the third one of these that I have bought, hopefully it should be as reliable as the other two. I have used these to program the Arduino Mini-pro with no problem, but have found that these do not supply enough current at 3.3v to re-program the Sonoff Basic, which has the ESP 8266 chip. It seems that others have had the same experience with programming the ESP8266. I found that by adding a separate 5v to 3.3v module fed from the 5v of the FTDI board works really well. I incorporated the FTDI module and 5v to 3.3v board into a case for a 9v PP9 battery. The battery box has a built in switch which I was able to use to switch the 3.3v supply on/off for programming, this is a neat unit and works well.
