This project was enjoyable to build but it didn't function properly on completion. The first issue is that the circuit board power trace connects to both throws of the switch. This means that the switch is constantly turned on. To fix this cut the trace between the two outter pins of the switch. See picture below. The second problem that was encountered was that all the lights lit and there was no speed control. This was fixed by adding (2) 100 nF decoupling capacitors. One for the CD4060 and one for the Music circuit. Connect them between the Vcc and the Ground on each device. See picture below. This solved the oscillation problem and allowed control of the lights. The final problem was not resolved as the music chip only played one continuous note. It didn't matter much as the price was right and I had fun putting it together and trouble shooting the problems.

When first assembled the sound was badly garbled and for the most pat the tune was not distinguishable. If you want it to work better cut the trace indicated in the picture and install a 1K resistor across the cut.

Já processaram dois desses kits. Um excelente exercício de soldagem com função final para controle de sucesso. Spoiler: A ponte de arame atrás do chip PX088A, como mostrado na imagem sob o detalhe do produto levou ao meu mau funcionamento e foi separada. Mas esse também foi um bom exercício de depuração. 🙂

Habe bereits zwei von diesen Bausätzen verarbeitet. Eine sehr gute Lötübung mit abschließender Funktion zur Erfolgskontrolle. Spoiler: Die Drahtbrücke hinter dem Chip PX088A, so wie auf dem Bild unter Produktdetail dargestellt führte bei mir zur Fehlfunktion und wurde getrennt. Aber auch dies war eine gute Übung zur Fehlersuche. 🙂
