The good: The metal clamp on the bottom is very sturdy and well made. This part can be used by itself independently of the flexible plastic part. For the price, the metal parts are good. The weird: This shape of this contraption looks very silly once it is on a bicycle. It looks completely out of place and goofy. The bad: The flexible plastic mechanism with three rubber endpoints bounces up and down so violently when riding a bicycle (even on perfectly smooth pavement) that both the image and soundtrack of any video you record with an action camera will be completely unusable. I tried mounting this contraption both right side up as well as upside down to my bicycle. Upside down seems slightly better because the action camera stays vertical due to gravity pulling the camera downward, whereas right side up causes the camera to tilt off-axis after going over a bump in the road, as when crossing a road. The two flexible plastic halves loudly hit each other in the center like hands clapping together over and over. The video footage has no stability whatsoever. This device achieves the exact opposite of its namesake. Not only does it not absorb shocks, it actually magnifies shocks. This device would be a neat idea if it actually worked. After just one cycling trip, I could already see one of the three flexible plastic arms beginning to show signs of fatigue, which means that this part will die very soon if used again. I do not recommend this device for the purpose of stabilizing action camera footage of a cycling trip. You are better served by mounting your action camera to your upper body.

Well, if I was on the road all the time this would probably get 5/5, but off road the damping does not work. I would recommend this for someone wanting to dampen a camera on a drone maybe.
