Fits my bike seat well, feels solid. The holder itself is aluminum, the backplate is steel. Comes with 2 washers and 6 hex socket screws - 4 for the bottle cages and 2 for mounting it on the bike. The mounting screws appear to be the same threading but are slightly longer, so make sure you're using the proper ones if you have difficulty. No nuts, the backplate is tapped to accept the screws itself and I think this is why it's steel. The bottle cage attachment points have threaded brass inserts. The actual purpose of this piece is pretty genius - it frees up the frame bottle cage point for many other items that you could put in there, such as a pump, without having to take up handlebar space with a cup holder, and you can carry more than one bottle - great for longer rides, or to keep both a sports drink or snack with your water. On top of this, I don't see why you couldn't attach other bags or parts to this. The only negative I could think of is that they feel like they have a fairly low weight limit. A little length of bar, block or plate stuck on the inside corner could add some strength without too much extra weight, and this is probably what I will end up doing. A little locktite on the attachment screws (or upgrading them to longer ones with locknuts) might be necessary for harder riding, but they feel solid as-is. Not a bad item at all.

This is the second time that I am purchasing these. They are light strong and the way they hook in the seat I like tip my four more aerodynamic bottles. They work great. I combined them with carbon fiber bottle holders but I had a little bit of problem with the carbon fiber and the screws so I needed to add washers to protect the carbon fiber from tearing. I am carrying up to 24 oz bottles and these don't Bend or move. And they leave just enough room that I can use that round automatic brake light.
