Very useful dc dc hard to make so small pcb by yourself(also cheaper), using it to charge lithium batteries inside closed case projects..., just make sure you don't discharge it too much , just set it to 4.15-4.18v (cv) (better don't set it to 4.2v) and it will slowly stop charging when it reach when voltage of the battery rises to 4.xx(the one you set), better don't use it to charge in series, just single or parallel
We use this step-down converter to supply 5 V DC for 5 V LEDs stripes.
zuverlässige Spannungsregler für variabel einstellbare Spannungsversorgung Input voltage: 4.5V ~ 28V Output voltage: 0.8V ~ 20V Output current: rated current is 2A
Finally i received my buck-converters, expect those to be as stable as the first I ordered. (identical PCB's :-) ;-) ) Function perfect as switch-down PSU for LED-strips where I distribute from a 22-26V unstabilized (transformer/rectifier) or a 24V DC PSU. Only negative about this Buck-converter is the trimmer which I replace with an 0805 resistor with a value needed for the given LED-strip voltage-need. Runs easily up to 0.75A without cooling and above that just a small cooling-fin clued on the back-side. Above 1.5A I split up and use 2 or more PSU's :-) as I don't like electronics to be hotter than 65-70 degree Celsius (40 years experience) The shown photo is the PSU mounted with a small sub-board and a supply-capacitor 1500µF/35V used together with 2 meters of SKU15256 "Warm White 5630 SMD Non-waterproof 300 LEDs Strip" and a PIR-sensor. Non-activated PIR the PSU deliver 7.5V (LED's using about 0.25W and running 24/7) weak but OK standby light and activated PIR the PSU deliver 11V (absolute maximum for the used LED-strips and now using approx 10-11W) Really power-light !! ;-) :-) :-D . My main-door outdoor-light :-)
I bought 20 units of them and I already put some into "production". As the specification said, the user will need additional heatsink to avoid overheating and self-shutdown. Several times I made mistake and put 20V into the input in inverted polarity, but the converter survived without and issue. Also, if the current is too much and the chip overheated (it can be pretty hot! under high load: >1500mA) the chip stops working (turned off itself) but as it will be cooler, it will switch on again. So, it is possible to get a blinking LED if the user do not use heatsink. Adjusting the output voltage is easy and it can be pretty stable under different loads (like using to feed a PWM output to drive LED modules (COB/strips etc.).
goooooood
good
Adoro estes conversores.
