I only suggest using this on a large solar panel. 60 watts or bigger. smaller panels won't create enough powrr

I got something a little different from what's pictured. On the outside, it looks identical, except without a heatsink on the back. The box and label on the top of mine also say it's a 20 amp unit. So for the price, that's pretty great. Internally, it seems well made. I've posted several photos of the inside and some measurements. Strangely, mine has two barrel connectors on the PCB internally with evidence that they were hand soldered on. Why is this? I don't know, they're connected to the "Load" output and would be usable if you cut a hole in the front. I don't have a solar panel yet to use this with, so I wired a laptop power supply into it, and charged a 12AH battery with it. It cut off at 14.2 volts and went to a 13.8 volt float charge. The "Sun" LED flashes when it goes into the float charge. I also did put my multimeter into the amps mode and connected the probes across the load terminals, the "Load" LED flashed the "overload" code and my multimeter measured 20 amps! I disconnected the probes because that's more than what my multimeter is supposed to handle. The controller did not shut down, but it might have if I held it longer. Internally, the manufacturer also removed the markings from the FETs, which is annoying. The PCB seems to be well made and designed to take 20 amps. There are no buttons, no adjustments, and no modes other than charge battery and turn off load when the battery gets too low. There is no dawn-to-dusk automatic light mode or anything like that. It's very simple. The terminal blocks can take #10 AWG wire, which I would recommend for 20 amps. Overall, pretty good value for money, very simple controller, reasonable quality.
